Be fearless, Be brave, Be bold, Love yourself
There is no time to be bored in a world as beautiful as this. It's Chinese New Year and you get two holidays, four including the weekends. You did try to participate in the festivities by watching some shows in Sentosa on day one. Left with 3 more days and a realization that everywhere you go will be pack with people, you try to make the most of the remaining days by browsing through your saved Pinterest projects and use the time to make it happen! A couple of weeks ago, we helped a close friend conceptualize her Pre Nuptial photo shoot. She also asked me to do her make up. It was really fun doing the shoot and we're all looking forward to see the photos. Two weeks later, I found myself happily browsing through them all and I must admit that I felt a bit envious because she just looks gorgeous! I instantly imagined myself in front of the camera doing the same poses. However, it didn't took long before I realize that sweet poses are too safe for my taste. I think you can already guess what I did next. Look for other concept in Pinterest of course! After an hour, I decided that edgy, glam rock kind of shoot suits me well. Why? We'll I'm a rocker by heart and grew up more of tomboy so acting fierce and tough should come more natural to me. After completing my concept, I looked at my wardrobe and threw together a couple of shirt, dress, jeans, metal accessories and of course my leather jacket. I feel confident in the HMUA department so that's done. I'm only left with one but definitely most important element of any shoot, the photographer! So, I lovingly asked my husband if he would like to do a photo shoot session with me. As expected, he happily accepted my offer. I'd like to think that it makes him a proud husband seeing me looking beautiful and all dolled up (or in this case looking edgy) like a real model. So prepare to be blown away with our Rocker Mom photo shoot project for the Chinese New Year! Who said mommies can't rock? Even my son can't help but notice my beautiful transformation and called me gorgeous! Of course for some this may be a waste of time or could be taken as vanity, but I personally did this shoot to re affirm my belief that despite being a hands-on mom, in your 30's, with all the stress of having to juggle time at work, home and ministry, God made me beautiful. And these photos clearly show it. 30 years from now, if this site is still existing (I might as well print them to be safe), I can look again at these photos and revive happy memories back when I can still act and really look fierce. Then I can rest with the thought that I was beautiful then, thus, I can only be beautiful now.
