It's been a year and I still can't believe I've studied and graduated in Singapore. It's just Advanced Diploma but still, had you known me when I was younger, just the fact that I am studying again would make you believe in miracles.

I'm one of those people who's not fond of studying, especially doing assignments and taking exams. But don't get me wrong, I love going to school. But mostly to meet with friends and also to learn. However, being an adult does something to you. It makes you realize that if you want to be taken seriously in your career, or if you are passionate on a certain interests or hobby, you need to study. Simply because there's so much you need to learn especially in this fast phase world we're living in. This is when I decided to take Advanced Diploma in Digital marketing. This is the new world of Marketing that I can't take for granted if I want to be more competitive in the Marketing industry.

Studying in Singapore is no joke, especially if you're a full-time employee. To add insult to injury, I also learned I was pregnant after paying my tuition fees. I could have quit and refunded it but I know that motivation is very hard to come by. So, I just closed my eyes and brave it all. I attended classes three times a week, going straight from the office to the city where my school is. Often my day ends at 11 P.M. plus 50 minutes to travel back home. I'm exhausted most of the time. The daily grind was tough and I did not expect the loads of assignments and papers I need to work on. There were also exams I need to prepare for. To be honest, after I graduated, I decided I won't be doing it again, at least not soon. But I am proud of myself because I carried on. I had all the excuses to quit, like being pregnant and having a new born to take care of and breastfed, but I did not.

Now I am proud graduate and I wouldn't have been able to accomplish it without my husband's support. My children and my family was my inspiration. And I hope I can inspire you too. Most of the time, we just need a head start.

If its schooling, just register and pay the fees. If it's exercise, sign up to the gym and show up, drag yourself and be there every time. If it's a new job, start by updating your LinkedIn and CV. It's always that first step that's tough. Of course, once you're there, there will be new set of challenges but don't quit. Continue, strive harder, push yourself and before you know it, you've accomplished so much! Just stay focus and remind yourself of the time and effort you've already invested.

Keep pressing on, focusing on why you are doing it versus why you shouldn't. Once you're in the end, you'll feel proud of what you've accomplished and you will have a new respect and admiration for yourself. And that makes it all worth it!
